Inspiring Visual/Spoken Retrospective of Solo Wilderness Travel by a Woman "It gave our daughter
permission to think of females doing something like a solo trek into the
wilderness to get in touch with nature as well as their spirit...broke
down a stereotype that society has set up concerning women. That is a
powerful message." Death Valley, Okefinokee and Beyond is a retrospective of solo-camping wilderness travels since 1991, by photographer, Annie Tiberio. Accompany Annie as she treks solo across the country to capture intimate portraits of nature in its purest form. Annie is a former elementary school teacher, environmental educator for the Massachusetts Audubon Society and photography instructor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst Continuing Education. She currently teaches photography for the National Wildlife Federation and exhibits her work nationally in galleries and art shows. "Scientific impressionism...She does really celebrate the natural world in her work...She pulls in a little bit of science and a lot of art...Her works are just so amazing in their content that they just sort of pull you into the image."
